CRC Race Results: CRC frightens the competition at the Halloween Classic
TeamCRC Racing - events and results
Calandra Racing Concepts Dominates the 2006 Halloween Classic

The annual Halloween Classic in Ohio has been the premier "warm-up" for the U.S. Indoor Champs for years. Held at different venues near Cleveland, OH for over 15 years, the Halloween Classic (HC) has always drawn the fastest carpet road racers in the country. This year's event held at The Gate, would prove to be one of the largest attended HC races ever.

For Team CRC, it was our official debut of the new 1/12th link car from CRC, the Carpet Knife, Generation X. Also new at the event was CRC's all-new "Pro-Strut" front end, which is found on the Generation X car. In addition to new cars and parts, CRC also had a couple new team drivers, Trinity's Mike Blackstock and Jeff Cuffs and Parma's Paul Ciccarello, all 3 driving the new CK Gen-X car for the first time.

A strong field of 1/12th stock, 19 turn and modified racers took to the challenging Gate layout. CRC's Fasttrak carpet provided a high bite racing surface. The Gate's challenging layout provided a true test for driver, motor and chassis. A slightly bumpy surface made setup even more difficult for the low suspension 1/12th cars.
In stock, the bearded wonder, Eli Ezrow, Wayne Gerber and Mark Calandra unloaded right off the truck with very fast cars, knocking off fast lap times right away. Later in qualifying, other CRC drivers would rise up and take positions near the top of the mains. In fact, the TOP 18 qualifiers drove CRC 1/12 cars. Qualifiers 1 thru 18, amazing! In the end, a quiet but deadly Mark Smyka would rise to the T.Q. position, proving his good run in Las Vegas was no fluke.
In 19 turn, again Mark Smyka was flying with his prototype CRC Gen-X car. mark was T.Q. and went on to lead every lap of the A-main, winning in dominant fashion. Taking second on the podium was CRC's Tom Firsching driving a production Generation X car. Tom also used Pro-Cut racing tires, which come stock on the new Gen-X.
Smyka was the man in stock and 19 turn.
CRC 1-2 finish in Modified with Blackstock and Ciccerello
In 1/12th Modified, Trinity's Mike Blackstock would be driving his Carpet Knife Generation X car for the very first time. CRC's Jeff Dayger would also pilot a Pro-Cut shod Gen-X to some of the fastest laps in 1/12th modified all weekend. Another strong runner in modified would be Paul Ciccerello and Losi's Todd Hodge. In the end, the new Generation X car in the hands of Trinity powered Mike Blackstock would take T.Q. and the A-main win. Paul would follow up in second with a solid run.
A special thanks to the race management team at The Gate. Also thanks to the good group of racers that came out to make the race a success. CRC would also like to thank and congratulate the great group of racers with CRC cars, tires and accessories for their support.
