Using IRS ride height adjusters in the Gen X
| We assume the IRS ride height adjusters were made intentionally
on the small side to accommodate the overly tight rear bulkheads from Associated.
However, you can use your IRS inserts very simply by making a quick and easy
modification. This same modification will also tighten up other types
of inserts that may have worn slightly and become loose in the pod plate. |
| |
Using cutting pliers, slightly squeeze the plastic insert on the outer
perimeter.
Do not cut through the insert, just make a small dimple.
Do this top, bottom, left and right. The insert will now be nice and
snug.
If necessary, you can repeat this for a perfect fit each time.
This simple modification has already proven to work well with many racers,
modifying their IRS inserts without issue.
