The standard VCS shock uses a plastic snap-in ring that is prone to pulling out of position on a big crash. When this happens, the shock looses it's fluid and basically falls apart. CRC addresses this issue with the new "VCS Dura-Shock". The Dura-Shock has a threaded Delrin insert to contain the shock internals. Speaking of internals, other optional shocks on the market use special shock internals. However, the new CRC VCS Dura-Shock uses STOCK internal components from the standard VCS shock. These are easily found on any dealer's shelf and are very affordable.
